Spantik Peak
Spantik Expedition Overview
The Spantik Expedition is an incredible mountaineering adventure to Spantik Peak, located in the Karakoram Range of Pakistan. Known as the "Golden Peak," Spantik lies south of the Hispar Glacier, towering above the Chogolungma Glacier. Its picturesque campsites and panoramic mountain views make it a favorite for climbers preparing for higher-altitude expeditions in the Himalayas and Karakoram.
For over 40 years, we have successfully organized Spantik Expeditions for mountaineers from across the globe. Our 30-35 day expeditions offer flexibility, with full-board services or base camp support tailored to the climber's experience, skills, and schedule.
The journey begins in Islamabad, where our representative will greet you upon arrival at Islamabad International Airport. After settling into your hotel, you'll attend a detailed briefing about the expedition. The next day, you'll take a breathtaking flight to Skardu, offering stunning views of iconic peaks such as K2, Nanga Parbat, and the Karakoram giants.
Skardu, the heart of Baltistan, serves as a hub for climbers and trekkers. Here, you'll finalize your preparations before heading to the small village of Arandu. This marks the starting point of your trek, with the first night spent camping under a starlit sky. From Arandu, you'll trek toward Tsas Chumik, Bolocho, and eventually the Spantik Base Camp.
The climbing phase spans approximately two weeks, during which three high-altitude camps are established to aid acclimatization and the summit attempt.
- Camp 1 (4,500m): A challenging 8-kilometer ascent from base camp, featuring ice pitches and crevasses.
-Camp 2 (5,500m): Reached via steep ice sections, offering spectacular panoramic views from its ridge.
- Camp 3 (6,550m): Located on a stunning ridge, it provides a base for the final summit push, which involves navigating steep ice and crevasses with safety ropes.
During the expedition, our experienced team will remain at the base camp to provide support. This includes a professional guide, a dedicated chef, and staff ensuring safety, comfort, and nutritious meals essential for high-altitude climbing.
After successfully reaching the summit, you'll retrace your steps to Islamabad following the same route. Upon returning, you'll have a night in the city to rest before your departure.
With four decades of expertise and a highly skilled team, we are committed to ensuring the success of your Spantik Expedition, creating a memorable and rewarding mountaineering experience.
